The ARRA - who are we

Welcome to the Alberta Road Riders Association  - ARRA. We are a group of devoted motorcycle fans who share a passion for riding.  

Our purpose is to promote a warm, welcoming environment for safe, responsible, courteous motorcycle riding, filled with fun, friends and knowledge. We welcome all brands of motorcycles, and you are not required to actively ride to be a member.

ARRA was formed in December 2022 after the closure of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA). We are a dynamic group of motorcycle enthusiasts in the Calgary area who wanted to continue our camaraderie and enthusiasm after the closure of GWRRA. We gather on a regular basis for meetings, rides and social events. Our members are men and women from all walks of life with varied interests and backgrounds and are likely to be independent thinkers, fun-loving, generous, adventuresome, cooperative, and unfazed by the natural challenges of riding in the rain, temperature extremes or highway uncertainties. We have touring motorcycle riders of all age groups.

We have monthly meetings year-round at Eaglequest Golf at Douglasdale, 7 Douglas Woods Dr SE, Calgary, starting promptly at 7 PM on the 2nd Monday of each month, unless it is a long weekend, and then we move the meeting to the Tuesday (day after). If you wish to have dinner and reminisce with people prior to the meeting, arriving at approximately 5:30 - 6 PM works well. Monthly Meeting notices are emailed out to the email address you provided on the membership form, approximately 8 days prior to a meeting. Monthly Meeting notices will include a Zoom link in case you cannot attend in person but can via Zoom. Guests are always welcome at our meetings, rides, and breakfasts. You don't need to ride or own motorcycle to enjoy our company. Everyone is welcome.

We also meet every Sunday year-round at 8:15 AM for breakfast at Fox Hollow Golf Course 999, 32 Ave NE, Calgary. This is an informal gathering to socialize. Our weekly rides in spring, summer and fall usually depart following these breakfasts, at 9:00, 9:30 or 10:00 AM depending upon the destination.
